Context Enables Your Team

In a coaching session with a leader yesterday, we landed on something that comes up time and time again in coaching conversations.

Context.

Team members do better when they understand why their work matters and how it fits into the bigger picture. They make better decisions. They prioritise more effectively. They stay motivated, even when plans change.

When we ask people to pivot, drop something they’ve worked hard on, or change direction mid-stream, it’s context that helps them make sense of it.Yet leaders often underestimate how much more context they have than the rest of the team.

If you’re a leader, one of the most powerful things you can do is sh

ree

are context. Then share it again. And again. In different ways.

It builds alignment. It builds trust. It drives performance.

What are you doing this week to connect your team to the bigger picture?
